Senior Academic Coordinator, Student Financial Services

Student Financial Services provides financial aid eligibility and application counseling and assists in the administration of financial aid programs, which may include scholarship programs. Works with students and families to provide financial education, explain loan repayment options, terms, and conditions for private, institutional, state, and federal financial aid programs.

Position Summary

The Senior Academic Coordinator within Student Financial Services is a key player in supporting the financial aid process at the university. This position involves working directly with students and their families to provide guidance on financial aid options, including federal, state, and institutional funding programs. The Senior Coordinator serves as an expert in financial aid eligibility, application counseling, and scholarship program administration, ensuring that students understand the financial aid process and are equipped to make informed decisions about their educational financing. In this role, the Senior Coordinator is responsible for managing complex financial aid cases, providing in-depth financial counseling, and developing resources to help students navigate their financial aid journey. They are the primary point of contact for students requiring specialized assistance with loan repayment, award disbursement, and other financial aid-related issues. Additionally, they help to streamline the financial aid process, improve program offerings, and ensure that students have access to the information and support needed to successfully fund their education. The Senior Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in financial aid operations. While working independently, the Senior Coordinator may also oversee or mentor other staff members, assisting with training and ensuring that team members adhere to departmental goals and standards. This role requires a strong understanding of financial aid systems and regulations, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. The Senior Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing student satisfaction by ensuring that financial aid services are accessible, efficient, and student-centered, contributing to the broader goals of the university’s student services and enrollment initiatives.
