Student Financial Services
Student Financial Services provides financial aid eligibility and application counseling and assists in the administration of financial aid programs, which may include scholarship programs. Works with students and families to provide financial education, explain loan repayment options, terms, and conditions for private, institutional, state, and federal financial aid programs.

Position Summary

The Academic Director of Student Financial Services is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational management of all financial aid and scholarship programs at the university. This includes ensuring the efficient administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, guiding students and families through the financial aid application process, and providing comprehensive financial education. The director plays a key leadership role in aligning the financial services team with the university's goals for student retention and success. They work closely with senior leadership to establish and execute long-term strategic initiatives that enhance financial access and support for students across all levels. In this role, the director has full oversight of planning, budgeting, staffing, and the administration of financial aid services, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and university policies. The director collaborates with other departments, such as enrollment services and academic advising, to ensure that financial aid is integrated with broader student services. Additionally, they direct efforts to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer service, and implement technological solutions that streamline the financial aid process. The director is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure that the university remains competitive in offering financial assistance programs that meet the diverse needs of its student population. The Academic Director is a key player in shaping the student financial experience and works to ensure that students have the resources and support necessary to achieve academic and personal success. This includes directing efforts to improve financial literacy programs, loan repayment education, and understanding of financial aid options. The director leads, mentors, and supervises a team of professionals, providing ongoing training, performance evaluations, and career development opportunities. By managing resources effectively and fostering a collaborative environment, the director ensures that financial aid operations support student success and contribute to the overall goals of the university.
