Senior General Coordinator, Student Financial Services

Student Financial Services
Student Financial Services provides financial aid eligibility and application counseling and assists in the administration of financial aid programs, which may include scholarship programs. Works with students and families to provide financial education, explain loan repayment options, terms, and conditions for private, institutional, state, and federal financial aid programs.

Position Summary

The Senior General Coordinator within Student Financial Services plays a critical role in the day-to-day management and coordination of various financial aid processes, ensuring smooth operation of services that assist students in accessing financial resources for their education. This position involves overseeing the financial aid application process, managing the disbursement of scholarships, and working directly with students to provide counseling on financial aid eligibility, loan repayment options, and other financial education services. The Senior General Coordinator ensures that students and families receive accurate and timely information regarding financial aid programs, federal and state regulations, and institutional policies. As a senior-level individual contributor, the Senior General Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and oversight of financial aid systems, ensuring that they meet the evolving needs of students and comply with regulatory requirements. This role involves a deep understanding of financial aid programs and the ability to resolve complex issues, making decisions that impact both students and the university. Additionally, the Senior Coordinator collaborates with various departments, including admissions, registrar services, and student services, to ensure cohesive, student-centered financial aid experiences. They also provide ongoing support for data integrity and system updates to improve the overall efficiency and accessibility of financial aid services. The Senior General Coordinator may also lead or mentor a team of staff, providing guidance and training to ensure that all team members are well-versed in financial aid policies, procedures, and best practices. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, a comprehensive understanding of financial aid processes, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a focus on student success and satisfaction. By ensuring financial aid services are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with regulations, the Senior General Coordinator helps students achieve their academic goals without unnecessary financial barriers, thereby supporting the university’s broader enrollment and student success objectives.
