Counseling and Mental Health is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental, behavioral and emotional problems and disorders. Through discussion of emotions and experiences, uses evidence-based counseling techniques to help patients dealing with issues that affect their mental health and well-being. Helps patients come up with goals and plan action.

Position Summary

The Senior Clinical position within Counseling and Mental Health is an advanced role that requires significant experience and expertise in providing therapeutic services to individuals facing mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. This position involves independently assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of mental health conditions through evidence-based counseling techniques. The Senior Clinical professional will conduct individual and group therapy sessions, develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, and work closely with clients to identify and achieve therapeutic goals. With a deep understanding of mental health disorders, they will guide patients through their recovery while offering compassionate and effective care. In addition to providing direct clinical care, the Senior Clinical professional plays a key role in the coordination of care across various disciplines within the healthcare team. They will collaborate with other healthcare providers, including physicians, social workers, and counselors, to ensure that patients receive holistic and integrated support. The Senior Clinical professional may also take a leadership role in managing complex cases, guiding less experienced clinicians, and contributing to the development of clinical policies and procedures. They are responsible for maintaining thorough documentation of patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and ensuring compliance with ethical, legal, and organizational standards. As a senior-level position, this role also includes mentorship and leadership responsibilities. The Senior Clinical professional will provide guidance and supervision to junior staff, offering professional development opportunities and fostering a supportive learning environment. They may also lead or contribute to training initiatives, workshops, and community outreach efforts to promote mental health awareness. This position demands a high level of autonomy, advanced clinical judgment, and the ability to influence mental health practices within the organization, making it a pivotal role in shaping the overall approach to counseling and mental health services.
