Through discussion of emotions and experiences, uses evidence-based counseling techniques to help patients dealing with issues that affect their mental health and well-being. Helps patients come up with goals and plan action.

Position Summary

The Clinical Consultant position within Counseling and Mental Health is an advanced-level role that leverages deep clinical expertise to provide specialized guidance and strategic recommendations to healthcare teams and organizational leadership. The Clinical Consultant will play a key role in evaluating, advising, and improving the delivery of mental health services across the organization. This includes assessing existing clinical programs, recommending evidence-based best practices, and facilitating the integration of innovative treatment approaches. With a high level of autonomy, the Clinical Consultant will ensure that mental health services align with both regulatory standards and organizational goals, leading to improved patient outcomes and care quality. In this capacity, the Clinical Consultant will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and refine mental health interventions, counseling strategies, and treatment protocols. They will provide expert insight into complex patient cases, assisting clinical teams in navigating difficult or high-risk situations. The role also involves identifying opportunities for program development and enhancement, implementing new therapeutic techniques, and guiding teams in the adoption of these practices. As an authority on mental health issues, the Clinical Consultant will mentor and support staff, offering training, supervision, and professional development to foster clinical excellence throughout the department. Additionally, the Clinical Consultant will take a leadership role in shaping mental health initiatives within the organization. They will lead cross-functional teams in strategic planning, policy development, and quality improvement initiatives. This role requires exceptional communication and leadership skills to influence stakeholders and ensure the continuous advancement of mental health services. The Clinical Consultant’s expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the organization’s counseling and mental health services are comprehensive, effective, and accessible, while promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation in mental health care delivery.
