Health Education and Outreach is responsible for the health of the student and employee population, decreasing the impact of illnesses and diseases by encouraging healthy behavior through education and outreach. Provides health-related education guidelines, encouragement and support to individuals, while holding them accountable for achieving their health goals.
Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Associate Executive: Accountable for annual execution of goals and objectives in area of responsibility; disseminates goals to direct reports and ensures goals are operationalized. Recommends and may approve policy for area of operational and/or functional control. Typically has multiple directors and managers as direct reports. Scope of responsibility is a university wide sub-function with multiple disciplines, or multiple functions within a college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Associate Academic Executive in Health Education and Outreach provides strategic leadership in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote health, wellness, and disease prevention within the university community. Reporting to senior university leadership and situated within both Student Services and Healthcare Services, this role sets annual priorities and drives the integration of health education efforts across multiple university units. The position is responsible for aligning outreach strategies with institutional goals to support students’ academic and personal success through holistic health promotion. This executive-level role oversees a portfolio of programs and initiatives focused on preventative care, student engagement, peer health education, and campus-wide health literacy. It supervises a team of directors and managers who lead day-to-day operations in health promotion, outreach campaigns, and wellness services. The Associate Executive ensures policies and resources are in place to support inclusive and evidence-based health practices. Key responsibilities include budget oversight, policy development, cross-departmental collaboration, and regular assessment of program impact using data-informed approaches. As a senior leader within Academic Administration, the Associate Executive champions a student-centered approach while working collaboratively with academic departments, student affairs, and campus health professionals. This position plays a vital role in shaping institutional culture around wellness and personal development, advocating for system-level changes that enhance the student experience. Through this work, the Associate Executive ensures that health education and outreach initiatives remain innovative, impactful, and supportive of the university’s long-term strategic objectives.
