They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.

Position Summary

The Academic Manager within Housing and Dining Administration is responsible for overseeing student-facing programs and services that enhance the residential and dining experience for students living on campus. This role supports the development of a safe, inclusive, and engaging living-learning environment by coordinating operational activities, supervising staff, and ensuring alignment with student services and institutional goals. The manager provides leadership in the design and delivery of programs that foster academic success, personal development, and community building. This position is tasked with managing the day-to-day functions of housing and dining operations, including staff scheduling, budget oversight, and policy enforcement. The manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to address student needs, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and resolve operational challenges. In addition, the manager leads efforts to assess student satisfaction, improve service delivery, and align housing and dining initiatives with broader campus priorities. Working closely with colleagues in Residence Life and Student Services, the Academic Manager ensures students receive consistent, high-quality support and services throughout their campus experience. The role requires a proactive, student-centered leader with strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively manage teams and contribute to strategic planning efforts across the residential and dining areas.
