Housing and Dining Administration supports, educates, and enriches student experiences by providing the highest quality housing and dining services. Develops, implements, operationalizes, and supports collaborative residential and dining programs.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Supervisor: Supervises experienced administrative, operative, and/or technical roles. Coordinates schedules and workflow for the team. Focuses on team completion of assignments and is responsible for ensuring the orientation and training of employees.

Position Summary

The General Supervisor within Housing and Dining Administration plays a key leadership role in overseeing the operational and administrative functions that support campus residential and dining services. This position ensures daily workflows and service delivery run efficiently and effectively to promote a high-quality living and dining experience for students. The supervisor is responsible for implementing scheduling, delegating tasks, and maintaining service standards across functional teams to support the housing and dining mission within the broader student services framework. In this supervisory role, the position provides direct oversight of administrative and operational staff, ensuring team members are properly trained, supported, and aligned with departmental procedures and student-focused goals. The supervisor monitors staff performance, provides coaching and feedback, and coordinates ongoing professional development. This role also plays a vital part in supporting campus initiatives related to wellness, student retention, and engagement by ensuring that housing and dining services meet both institutional and student needs. Operating within the general administration career track, this position emphasizes collaboration, organization, and accountability in the execution of operational strategies and student service delivery. The General Supervisor communicates regularly with campus partners in Residence Life, Facilities, and Dining Services, ensuring integration of services and alignment with institutional goals. By maintaining smooth team operations and consistently high service standards, this position directly contributes to a safe, inclusive, and supportive living and dining environment for the university community.
