Military Affairs is responsible for serving the universitys military student community. Collaborates with university partners to ensure military and veteran dependents are connected to the financial, academic, and social resources necessary for a successful transition to and through their course of study at the university.

Position Summary

The Senior Academic Coordinator within Military Affairs plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the academic services and support programs for military-affiliated students at the university. This individual acts as a key resource for military students, veterans, and their dependents, ensuring they have the tools, guidance, and support to successfully navigate their academic careers. The Senior Academic Coordinator works independently, collaborating with various departments such as academic advising, financial aid, and career services, to facilitate access to resources and ensure smooth transitions from military to academic life. In this role, the Senior Academic Coordinator is responsible for providing direct support to military-affiliated students by offering academic advising, connecting them with necessary campus resources, and ensuring that their unique needs are met. The coordinator also serves as an expert in understanding the specific challenges faced by military students, including deployment, reintegration, and time management. They monitor the academic progress of military students, helping them with course selection, degree planning, and navigating university requirements. Additionally, this position assists in the development of programs and workshops aimed at enhancing the student experience for military students, supporting their academic and personal growth. The Senior Academic Coordinator also plays a key leadership role in building and maintaining partnerships with military organizations and external agencies. They collaborate with other student affairs departments to create a holistic support system for military students, while advocating for policies and practices that are inclusive and supportive of military families. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently, while also supporting the broader goals of the university's military affairs initiatives. By ensuring that military-affiliated students receive comprehensive support, the Senior Academic Coordinator directly contributes to their academic success and overall well-being within the university community.
