Promotes and provides co-curricular opportunities, services and resources that have development outcomes that are purposeful and prepare students to live healthy, productive and fulfilling lives. Deliver the programs, services, facilities and administrative functions that facilitate the co-curricular environment of a college or university and enhance the educational experiences of its students toward their self-exploration, learning and development.
Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 2
Executive: Has senior-level leadership responsibilities for major unit operations. Establishes and implements policies, procedures, programs, fiscal authority, and operational autonomy. Leads department heads, chairs, school directors, directors, senior managers, and managers. Scope of responsibility is university wide for an overall college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Academic Executive within Student Affairs provides senior-level leadership and strategic direction to the university’s student services operations, ensuring that all student affairs programs align with the institution's academic and co-curricular mission. This position oversees the delivery and continuous improvement of a wide range of services, including academic advising, career services, student advocacy, wellness programs, and housing, to create a holistic support system for students. The Executive is responsible for driving the strategic vision for student affairs, focusing on enhancing students' academic, personal, and professional success through integrated, high-quality services. This role entails overseeing the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs that affect all aspects of student life, fostering a co-curricular environment that promotes student growth, wellness, and engagement. The Academic Executive has full operational autonomy within student affairs, working closely with other senior leaders to ensure that student needs are met effectively and efficiently. The role involves setting and communicating goals to department heads, managers, and staff while ensuring the resources, infrastructure, and programs are in place to support student development and institutional priorities. As part of the university's leadership team, the Academic Executive is expected to contribute to the long-term strategy of the institution, ensuring that the student affairs division complements the broader academic mission. They will manage and direct senior-level leaders and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop initiatives that engage students meaningfully throughout their educational journey. By making high-impact decisions that shape student experiences, the Academic Executive plays a crucial role in advancing the university’s reputation as a leader in student development and fostering a vibrant campus culture.
