Position Summary

The Academic Supervisor within Student Conduct is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the student conduct team, ensuring the effective administration of student behavior and academic performance management. This position plays a key role in implementing the policies and procedures related to student conduct, working closely with students, faculty, and staff to address behavioral issues that impact the academic and co-curricular environment. The Academic Supervisor provides leadership, coordination, and oversight of the student conduct process, ensuring that all actions align with institutional policies and support the university’s commitment to student success. In this role, the Academic Supervisor supervises a team of conduct administrators or staff, ensuring that cases are handled efficiently, fairly, and in accordance with university regulations. Responsibilities include coordinating the workflow and schedules of the conduct team, reviewing student conduct cases, and making recommendations for corrective actions when necessary. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for the training and professional development of staff, helping them to understand and apply the institution's conduct policies and procedures effectively. The supervisor also ensures that the team maintains a supportive and educational approach to student conduct, emphasizing student development alongside accountability. As part of the broader Student Affairs division, the Academic Supervisor works collaboratively with other departments to provide resources and interventions for students facing academic or behavioral challenges. This includes coordinating with academic advisors, student support services, and faculty to develop strategies that help students learn from their conduct violations and succeed academically. The supervisor is also responsible for tracking and reporting trends in student conduct, utilizing this data to inform policy changes and improve the student experience. Ultimately, the Academic Supervisor ensures that the student conduct system operates smoothly and supports the university's mission to foster a positive, respectful, and supportive academic community.
