Student Services is responsible for the management and administration of work in multiple student services specialties, including but not limited to academic advising, career services, admissions, financial aid, student advocacy and support, health and wellness services, student engagement and development, learning support services, and housing and residential life.

A range of knowledge, complexity, autonomy, and impact may be needed to achieve results at certain levels. Individual contributor roles are reflected in the Academic Administration, Development, General Administration, Technical/STEM, and C1-C4 of the Clinical tracks.

Position Summary

The Academic Coordinator within Student Services plays a key role in supporting student success by assisting with a variety of student services programs that cater to the academic and personal development of students. This position is responsible for coordinating specific academic services such as advising, tutoring, and learning support, ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to succeed academically. The coordinator works closely with other staff members within the student services department, collaborating to implement effective programs and initiatives that support student learning and development. In this role, the Academic Coordinator helps manage the day-to-day operations of student services, which may include scheduling and coordinating appointments, assisting students with academic planning, and providing guidance on academic policies and procedures. They ensure that students are informed about available resources, and they may also assist in identifying students who may need additional academic support. The position requires a strong understanding of the student experience and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, faculty, and staff. The Academic Coordinator also tracks the success and participation of students in various programs, gathering data to inform future improvements. As an individual contributor, the Academic Coordinator works within a team but also takes ownership of specific tasks and programs. They are expected to handle a variety of responsibilities with minimal supervision, applying their knowledge and expertise to ensure that services are delivered effectively. The role requires a balance of organizational skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal abilities, as the Academic Coordinator is often a first point of contact for students seeking support. While they may not have full autonomy, they are expected to exercise independent judgment in managing their areas of responsibility, ensuring that students receive the support they need to succeed in their academic pursuits.
