Student Success fosters an environment that helps students achieve success. Evaluates students and may make referrals for tutoring, more specialized counseling, and other resources as warranted. Serves as a liaison to other university student resources. Develops and implements academic support programs.
Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Associate Executive: Accountable for annual execution of goals and objectives in area of responsibility; disseminates goals to direct reports and ensures goals are operationalized. Recommends and may approve policy for area of operational and/or functional control. Typically has multiple directors and managers as direct reports. Scope of responsibility is a university wide sub-function with multiple disciplines, or multiple functions within a college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Associate Academic Executive within Student Success plays a key leadership role in overseeing the strategic planning, development, and implementation of programs and services designed to promote student achievement. In this position, the individual is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the success of initiatives that support student learning, retention, and academic performance across the university. This role requires the executive to collaborate with various campus units, including academic advising, tutoring services, counseling, and student support resources, to foster an environment where students can thrive both academically and personally. The Associate Executive has significant responsibility for setting annual goals and objectives related to student success, ensuring alignment with university-wide strategies. They will manage a team of directors, managers, and other key personnel, providing leadership to ensure that student success programs are effectively executed. The position requires a high level of strategic thinking and the ability to recommend and approve policies that will have a lasting impact on student outcomes, particularly through academic support and engagement programs. Additionally, the role involves analyzing student data and feedback to continuously improve programs and resources offered. This executive-level role demands a combination of strong leadership, a deep understanding of student needs, and the ability to make data-driven decisions. The Associate Academic Executive will oversee the operational functions of various student success programs, ensuring that resources are efficiently allocated and that programs meet the diverse needs of the student body. By leading the student success team, they will have a direct impact on increasing retention, graduation rates, and student satisfaction across the university, contributing to the overall development and success of the institution.
