Student Success fosters an environment that helps students achieve success. Evaluates students and may make referrals for tutoring, more specialized counseling, and other resources as warranted. Serves as a liaison to other university student resources. Develops and implements academic support programs.

Position Summary

The Academic Consultant within Student Success plays a critical role in supporting students' academic and personal development by providing advanced guidance, mentorship, and strategic academic support. Operating within the Academic Administration track, this student-facing role evaluates individual student needs, develops tailored success plans, and connects students to relevant campus resources such as tutoring, counseling, learning support, and specialized academic programs. The consultant contributes to a culture of care, equity, and achievement by helping students overcome barriers and stay on track toward graduation. Functioning as an experienced individual contributor, the Academic Consultant acts with a high degree of independence and authority in managing academic support initiatives. This role may lead or coordinate efforts across departments, serve as a subject matter expert for student success strategies, and develop and implement academic intervention programs. The consultant regularly collaborates with faculty, advisors, and other student services professionals to ensure a comprehensive, wraparound approach to student support. Additionally, they may analyze student performance data to identify trends and recommend systemic improvements. In addition to direct student support, the Academic Consultant serves as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff, contributing to the professional development of the team and supporting continuous improvement efforts. This role is essential to advancing the university's mission of fostering student success through personalized, proactive, and data-informed support. Through a combination of strategic insight and compassionate service, the consultant enhances the academic journey of students and promotes retention, persistence, and graduation.
