Principal Gifts
Principal Gifts identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward principal gifts from donors with the institutions highest profile, inclination, and capacity. Designs and implements strategic fundraising plans through collaboration for academic units, regional campuses, and complex markets. Typically manages a portfolio of approximately 30 prospects and gift solicitations greater than $5,000,000.

Position Summary

The Development Consultant for Principal Gifts is a key contributor to advancing the university's philanthropic goals by securing transformational gifts from its highest-capacity donors. This role specializes in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding principal gifts valued at over $5,000,000. Managing a focused portfolio of approximately 30 high-profile prospects, the consultant designs and executes strategic fundraising plans in collaboration with academic units, regional campuses, and other stakeholders to align donor interests with institutional priorities. Operating at an advanced level, the consultant works independently, leveraging extensive experience and knowledge of fundraising principles to achieve ambitious goals. The position also involves providing leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of excellence in donor engagement and stewardship. Through innovative strategies and deep relationship-building expertise, the consultant plays a pivotal role in shaping the university’s capacity to deliver on its mission and vision.
