Veterinary Sciences is responsible for day-to-day operations of a clinical veterinary teaching hospital. Responsible for activities within the clinical veterinary care unit including the delivery of veterinary care for animals. Supports teaching and excellent patient care. May participate in animal care including assisting in surgery and pre and post-operative care.

Position Summary

The Clinical Consultant for Veterinary Sciences is an advanced-level role that supports the delivery of expert veterinary care within a clinical veterinary teaching hospital. Leveraging extensive experience and specialized knowledge, the consultant provides high-level guidance in clinical procedures, patient care, and hospital operations. This role involves independently managing complex cases, contributing to the development of innovative care protocols, and ensuring the highest standards of animal health and welfare. Additionally, the consultant may assist in surgeries, oversee critical pre-and post-operative care, and provide technical expertise on challenging medical cases. In this capacity, the Clinical Consultant also plays a key mentorship role, guiding team members and students, enhancing their clinical skills, and fostering professional development. As a trusted authority, they influence decision-making processes, contribute to strategic initiatives, and drive advancements in veterinary practices. This position is vital to maintaining excellence in patient care, supporting the hospital’s teaching mission, and ensuring the veterinary sciences program remains at the forefront of innovation and clinical leadership.
