Athlete Engagement provides opportunities for student athletes to engage in communities and participate in service projects.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 2
Manager: Responsible for leading a team of professionals and/or support employees. Has full responsibility for team output. Focuses on implementing and executing strategies within their own department or team.
G - General Administration

Position Summary

The General Manager for Athlete Engagement plays a crucial role in leading and managing the athlete engagement department, ensuring that student-athletes have access to impactful community service opportunities and initiatives. This position involves setting strategic goals, overseeing program implementation, and ensuring that all engagement activities align with the broader objectives of the athletics department. The General Manager will coordinate closely with athletic coaches, student athlete services, and other university departments to create a positive environment for student-athletes to develop leadership skills, foster community involvement, and engage in service-oriented projects. As a leader within the department, the General Manager is responsible for managing a team of professionals, providing administrative oversight, and ensuring high-quality program delivery. This includes establishing and monitoring team goals, coordinating day-to-day operations, managing staff performance, and supporting professional development opportunities. The General Manager is also responsible for managing resources, creating and maintaining schedules, handling budgeting and reporting, and ensuring the success of athlete engagement efforts in contributing to the holistic development of student-athletes.
