Athletic Training prevents, examines, diagnoses, and treats muscle and bone injuries on athletes. Athletic trainers provide emergency care, diagnosis, and injury recovery and rehabilitation.

Position Summary

The General Consultant for Athletic Training provides expert-level guidance and support in the management and execution of athletic training services, specializing in injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for student-athletes. As an advanced individual contributor, the General Consultant offers strategic insights into optimizing athletic training programs, working with athletic trainers and medical teams to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained. This role also involves reviewing and advising on the development of injury prevention strategies and improving recovery protocols to enhance the overall wellness of student-athletes. In addition to providing technical expertise, the General Consultant will mentor athletic training staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. This position requires the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including coaches, sports medicine professionals, and administrative teams, to develop and implement effective programs that support the health and performance of student-athletes. As an advanced position, the General Consultant will also provide leadership in strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and policy development, ensuring that athletic training services align with university, NCAA, and industry standards.
