Athletic Training prevents, examines, diagnoses, and treats muscle and bone injuries on athletes. Athletic trainers provide emergency care, diagnosis, and injury recovery and rehabilitation.

Position Summary

The Senior General Coordinator for Athletic Training plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the athletic training services for student-athletes, ensuring the highest standards of care in injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. This position is responsible for coordinating athletic training operations, ensuring that student-athletes receive prompt and effective medical attention during practices, competitions, and recovery phases. The Senior General Coordinator will collaborate closely with athletic trainers, coaches, and medical staff to ensure a comprehensive, integrated approach to sports medicine, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Senior General Coordinator will provide leadership in overseeing day-to-day operations of the athletic training program, managing scheduling, staff assignments, and ensuring compliance with university, NCAA, and state regulations. This position involves a high degree of autonomy and requires experience in athletic training, decision-making, and the ability to mentor and lead a team of trainers. The Senior General Coordinator will also contribute to the development of injury prevention strategies and be actively involved in creating long-term plans for improving the athletic training program, while promoting a safe environment for student-athletes.
