General Manager, Athletic Training

Athletic Training prevents, examines, diagnoses, and treats muscle and bone injuries on athletes. Athletic trainers provide emergency care, diagnosis, and injury recovery and rehabilitation.

They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Position Summary

The General Manager for Athletic Training is responsible for overseeing and managing the athletic training department, ensuring that student-athletes receive high-quality care for their injuries and rehabilitation needs. This position involves the coordination and leadership of a team of athletic trainers, as well as managing day-to-day operations, including staffing, scheduling, and ensuring that resources are properly allocated. The General Manager will develop and implement strategies for injury prevention, care, and rehabilitation, working closely with sports medicine professionals and athletic coaches to support the overall health and performance of student-athletes. In addition to managing the athletic training team, The General Manager for Athletic Training will play a key role in ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. This role includes overseeing the department's budget, conducting evaluations, providing leadership and mentorship to staff, and making recommendations regarding hiring, training, and performance improvements. The General Manager will also be responsible for the continuous development of athletic training programs, ensuring that they align with the university’s objectives and provide optimal care for student-athletes. By driving efficiency and fostering a culture of collaboration, the General Manager ensures that the athletic training department contributes effectively to the athletic department’s success.
