Athletic Training prevents, examines, diagnoses, and treats muscle and bone injuries on athletes. Athletic trainers provide emergency care, diagnosis, and injury recovery and rehabilitation.

Position Summary

The General Director for Athletic Training is responsible for overseeing and leading the athletic training department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care for student-athletes. This role involves directing and controlling the activities of the athletic training team, including injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. The Director will set strategic goals for the department, working closely with coaches, sports medicine professionals, and administrators to ensure that all aspects of athletic care align with the university’s standards and student-athlete needs. The Director will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices. In addition to overseeing clinical operations, The General Director for Athletic Training will manage the department's budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and support to operate efficiently. This role requires collaboration with university leadership to set strategic goals and long-term initiatives for the department. The Director will also serve as a mentor to athletic trainers, fostering professional development and providing guidance on complex cases or challenges. With overall control of planning and coordination, the General Director ensures the continued success and effectiveness of the athletic training program, contributing to the overall health and performance of student-athletes.
