Communications and Marketing is responsible for communications and marketing strategy and management. Partners with colleges and business units to provide creative solutions and consultation in the effective execution of communications and market initiatives for stakeholders including current and potential students, alumni, employees, media, and others.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Supervisor: Supervises experienced administrative, operative, and/or technical roles. Coordinates schedules and workflow for the team. Focuses on team completion of assignments and is responsible for ensuring the orientation and training of employees.
G - General Administration

Position Summary

The General Supervisor of Communications and Marketing is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a team focused on communications and marketing initiatives. This role works closely with colleges and business units to support the effective execution of marketing strategies that engage stakeholders such as current and potential students, alumni, employees, media, and others. As a supervisor, the individual is tasked with coordinating the schedules, workflow, and assignments of the team, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. The General Supervisor is accountable for the orientation, training, and professional development of team members, providing guidance and ensuring that staff are equipped to meet organizational goals. This position requires a focus on the performance and productivity of the team, with responsibilities including conducting performance evaluations, making recommendations for staffing, and addressing any disciplinary matters. As a managerial role at the supervisor level, the position emphasizes leadership, goal setting, and the alignment of team efforts with broader communications and marketing objectives within the organization.
