Communications and Marketing is responsible for communications and marketing strategy and management. Partners with colleges and business units to provide creative solutions and consultation in the effective execution of communications and market initiatives for stakeholders including current and potential students, alumni, employees, media, and others.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 2
Manager: Responsible for leading a team of professionals and/or support employees. Has full responsibility for team output. Focuses on implementing and executing strategies within their own department or team.
G - General Administration

Position Summary

The General Manager of Communications and Marketing is responsible for overseeing and directing the communications and marketing functions within the organization. This role entails leading a team of professionals and support staff, ensuring the effective execution of strategies that engage key stakeholders, including current and potential students, alumni, employees, media, and other relevant audiences. The General Manager collaborates with various colleges and business units to provide creative solutions and expert consultation, driving the successful implementation of marketing and communications initiatives. In addition to strategic leadership, the General Manager has full accountability for the team's output, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. This position includes responsibilities for long-term goal setting, performance management, and administrative oversight, including conducting evaluations, making staffing decisions, and addressing any disciplinary issues. With a focus on the day-to-day operations as well as the execution of broader strategies, the General Manager plays a critical role in managing resources, setting clear expectations, and ensuring the productivity and success of the communications and marketing team.
