Faculty Support supports and manages academic processes, including strategies employed to provide faculty with knowledge, skills, abilities and infrastructure to effectively facilitate student success. This includes resources such as staff, training, budgetary resources, equipment, and software provided to faculty to support teaching, learning, research, and assessment.
Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Associate Executive: Accountable for annual execution of goals and objectives in area of responsibility; disseminates goals to direct reports and ensures goals are operationalized. Recommends and may approve policy for area of operational and/or functional control. Typically has multiple directors and managers as direct reports. Scope of responsibility is a university wide sub-function with multiple disciplines, or multiple functions within a college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Associate Academic Executive within Faculty Support is responsible for overseeing and driving the strategic execution of faculty support initiatives across the institution. This role ensures that faculty members have the necessary resources, tools, and infrastructure to effectively support student success and facilitate high-quality teaching, learning, research, and assessment. The Associate Executive will work closely with senior leadership to define goals and objectives for faculty support and ensure their alignment with the university’s broader academic mission. In this capacity, the Associate Academic Executive plays a key role in the annual execution of goals and operationalizing strategies within the faculty support function. They are accountable for overseeing the allocation and management of resources such as staff, budget, training programs, equipment, and software, which are essential to faculty performance and success. This position also has a significant leadership responsibility, providing direction to multiple directors and managers, and ensuring that faculty support policies are implemented effectively throughout the institution. The Associate Academic Executive collaborates with other senior leaders to develop and recommend policies and practices that promote faculty development and performance enhancement. They ensure that all faculty support services are functioning optimally and meet the evolving needs of faculty members. With a broad scope of responsibility, the role demands strong leadership, resource management, and strategic thinking to drive continuous improvement in faculty support programs across multiple disciplines and functions within the university.
