Senior General Coordinator, Compensation

Compensation designs, evaluates and administers the organizations compensation programs in the areas of merit pay, salary structure and range management, incentive plans, and job evaluation. Participates in external salary surveys, evaluates positions, and recommends appropriate salary range, creates and analyzes reports, and ensures compliance with federal and state pay regulations.

Position Summary

The Senior General Coordinator within Compensation is a highly skilled individual contributor responsible for managing and coordinating key aspects of the university's compensation programs, with a focus on ensuring compliance, competitiveness, and alignment with organizational goals. This senior-level role requires expertise in compensation practices, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to act independently while collaborating with senior compensation professionals and leaders across the organization. In this position, the Senior General Coordinator plays a critical role in administering compensation programs related to merit pay, salary structure and range management, incentive plans, and job evaluation. They will evaluate positions, analyze compensation data, and make recommendations regarding appropriate salary ranges, ensuring that the university’s compensation structure remains competitive within the market and complies with federal and state regulations. The Senior General Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing and conducting external salary surveys and preparing detailed compensation reports for senior leadership and key stakeholders. This position requires advanced knowledge of compensation principles, industry best practices, and the regulatory environment surrounding pay. The Senior General Coordinator is expected to lead and influence compensation initiatives, offering guidance and expertise in the development of compensation strategies that support the university's goals. While providing support to managers and other stakeholders, they will also take the initiative to identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the evolution of compensation systems and practices. As a senior contributor, the Senior General Coordinator will often work independently, applying their experience and education to resolve complex compensation issues. They may provide leadership and direction to less experienced team members, serving as a mentor and advisor. They will also be responsible for preparing and presenting recommendations to senior management and ensuring that compensation policies and programs are effectively communicated and understood across the organization. Overall, the Senior General Coordinator within Compensation plays a vital role in ensuring that the university’s compensation programs are fair, competitive, and compliant, while also contributing to the strategic development of compensation practices that enhance employee satisfaction and organizational success.
