Position Summary

The Associate Academic Coordinator within Inclusion and Diversity is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of inclusive programs that promote equity and diversity across the academic landscape of the university. In this role, the coordinator collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to ensure that inclusion and diversity initiatives are effectively integrated into academic activities. They contribute to the creation of a supportive environment where all members, regardless of background, feel valued and empowered to contribute to the university's academic mission. In this position, the Associate Academic Coordinator plays a key role in coordinating programs and events that focus on enhancing diversity and promoting inclusion within academic settings. They help to implement strategies that foster an inclusive culture in classrooms, academic departments, and student organizations. The coordinator works closely with the leadership of academic departments and other university divisions to ensure that diversity goals are effectively addressed in curricula, student services, and faculty development programs. The coordinator also assists in assessing the success of diversity initiatives and gathering feedback to improve future efforts. As an individual contributor, the Associate Academic Coordinator is expected to work independently, though they may also collaborate with colleagues across departments and programs. They are responsible for researching best practices in inclusion and diversity, supporting the implementation of new programs, and helping to analyze data to track the progress of these initiatives. This role requires an individual who is proactive, has strong communication skills, and possesses a genuine passion for fostering an equitable and inclusive academic environment.
