Position Summary

The General Consultant within Inclusion and Diversity plays a key advisory role in developing and implementing strategies that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion across the university. With an advanced level of expertise, the consultant works closely with university leadership and various departments to design and execute initiatives that foster an inclusive environment where all members are treated equitably and contribute to the university's mission. They bring specialized knowledge and insights to the table, ensuring that inclusive practices are integrated into every aspect of the organization, from hiring and retention to community engagement and academic programming. In this individual contributor role, the General Consultant is responsible for independently managing complex inclusion and diversity projects. They assess the needs of the university, evaluate current programs, and provide data-driven recommendations for improvements. The consultant also serves as an expert advisor on best practices related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and helps shape policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the university’s values. They collaborate with various stakeholders across the institution to ensure that strategies are tailored to the unique needs of different departments and groups, while maintaining consistency with the university's broader strategic objectives. Additionally, the General Consultant provides leadership and mentorship to less experienced staff, guiding them through the implementation of inclusion-focused programs and projects. They share knowledge on effective strategies, help identify areas for development, and provide support in overcoming challenges related to diversity and inclusion initiatives. With a strong ability to lead independently, the General Consultant contributes to the ongoing growth of the university’s inclusive culture by advancing high-impact initiatives and fostering a collaborative environment across campus.
