Position Summary

The Technical Manager within Application Development is responsible for leading and overseeing a team of developers and technical professionals involved in the design, development, and deployment of software applications. This position involves managing the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and analysis to development, testing, and production deployment. The manager ensures that development projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet the required quality standards. They are responsible for managing resources effectively, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining a focus on both technical excellence and meeting organizational objectives. In this leadership role, the Technical Manager provides direct supervision, mentorship, and guidance to the application development team. They will set clear goals, monitor progress, and evaluate performance to ensure continuous improvement and professional growth within the team. The manager is also responsible for fostering a collaborative work environment, encouraging innovation, and ensuring adherence to industry best practices and coding standards. Additionally, the manager will address any technical challenges faced by the team and ensure that projects align with both business requirements and IT strategy, helping to bridge the gap between development and operations. The Technical Manager plays a critical role in the strategic direction and execution of application development initiatives. They will collaborate with other technical leaders, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure that application development efforts support the overall objectives of the organization. The manager is also accountable for driving the adoption of new technologies, improving processes, and optimizing workflows to enhance team productivity and efficiency. As part of their administrative responsibilities, the Technical Manager will participate in recruitment, conduct performance evaluations, handle staffing issues, and contribute to long-term strategic planning. They will ensure that their team is well-equipped with the skills and resources needed to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions.
