System Development analyzes designs, develops, configures, monitors, and maintains IT systems software, hardware, and servers. This may include monitoring and maintaining the operating efficiency and stability, security, and integrity of all data and systems.

Individual contributor roles are reflected in the Academic Administration, Development, General Administration, Technical/STEM, and C1-C4 of the Clinical tracks.

Entry: These positions are not equivalent to support positions. Rather, these are professional roles which require limited experience when considering industry or field standards. Positions considered developmental level A/P faculty should be mapped to this level.

Position Summary

The Associate Analyst in System Development plays a foundational role in supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of the university’s IT systems. Working within the broader Information Technology unit, the associate analyst assists in configuring, testing, and documenting systems to support stable and secure operations. The role contributes to both software and hardware systems by helping ensure efficient performance, system integrity, and operational continuity. As an entry-level professional, this position works closely with more experienced systems developers and administrators to gain hands-on experience with a variety of technologies. Typical responsibilities include assisting with system monitoring, performing basic troubleshooting, contributing to system design discussions, and supporting software upgrades and installations. The associate analyst may also help analyze user needs, gather requirements, and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with technical standards and university policies.
