Position Summary

The Analyst within IT Service Management plays a critical role in the design, implementation, and optimization of IT services across the university. In this position, the analyst contributes to the development and execution of service management processes that ensure the efficient delivery and ongoing improvement of IT services. This includes assisting in the management of service requests, incidents, problems, and changes within the IT environment. The role requires an understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) frameworks and best practices to support the operational needs of the university's IT services. The Analyst works closely with technical teams and stakeholders to gather and analyze data, track service performance metrics, and identify opportunities for improvement. They assist in the monitoring and reporting of service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring that services are delivered within agreed-upon standards. The analyst also participates in root cause analysis and contributes to the development of solutions for recurring issues, striving to improve service efficiency and user satisfaction. As part of their responsibilities, they may support the documentation of processes and workflows to ensure consistency and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. While primarily an individual contributor, the Analyst within IT Service Management works collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve objectives and continuously enhance service delivery. This position requires a balance of technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. As an intermediate-level role, the Analyst is expected to execute tasks under the guidance of senior team members while also developing their own expertise in IT service management practices and methodologies.
