Position Summary

The Technical Supervisor within IT Service Management is responsible for overseeing a team of technical professionals who design, build, deliver, and maintain IT service offerings across the university. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise to manage the day-to-day operations of IT service management activities, ensuring the team efficiently implements and supports critical services. The supervisor will ensure that service management processes, such as incident resolution, problem management, and service requests, are executed smoothly, while fostering a high standard of service delivery aligned with university objectives. In this position, the Technical Supervisor will coordinate the workflows and schedules of the service management team, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and meet the required quality standards. They will be responsible for the onboarding, training, and professional development of team members, ensuring that staff are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in their roles. The supervisor will also collaborate with other IT teams and departments, contributing to the development and implementation of strategies that improve IT service management practices and overall system performance across the university. As a supervisory role, this position requires a balance of technical expertise and leadership. The Technical Supervisor is expected to provide guidance to the team, resolve complex technical issues, and facilitate collaboration between team members. In addition, they are responsible for evaluating performance, conducting performance reviews, and handling administrative tasks such as staffing decisions and disciplinary actions. The Technical Supervisor must also support long-term goal-setting for the team, ensuring that service management processes evolve in response to changing technology needs and university requirements.
