Represents the organization to government agencies, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Ensures the organization fosters a culture of compliance and integrity.

Position Summary

The General Consultant within Legal and Compliance plays an essential role in providing high-level advisory services to the organization, ensuring that all operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. This position requires an advanced understanding of legal and compliance issues, with a focus on offering strategic guidance to leadership and departments across the organization. The General Consultant will independently assess compliance risks, conduct in-depth research, and develop comprehensive recommendations to address complex legal challenges. Their expertise will contribute to shaping policies and procedures that align with legal requirements, and they will provide tailored advice to various stakeholders, including senior leadership, government agencies, suppliers, and other external partners. In this role, the General Consultant will utilize their extensive experience to take the lead in managing compliance projects and initiatives, collaborating with key departments to identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks. This includes conducting legal reviews, audits, and assessments, as well as offering expert advice on governance, ethics, and regulatory matters. The consultant will play a key role in educating and training staff on compliance-related topics, ensuring the organization fosters a culture of integrity and upholds its legal obligations. Additionally, the General Consultant will act as a primary resource for resolving complex compliance issues, proactively identifying emerging trends, and recommending strategies for continuous improvement. As an individual contributor, the General Consultant is expected to operate with a high degree of independence, demonstrating leadership and mentorship when guiding team members or colleagues. This role demands advanced problem-solving skills, the ability to influence decision-making at various levels of the organization, and the capacity to handle sensitive and high-stakes legal matters. The consultant will be responsible for maintaining a strategic focus on the organization's long-term goals while ensuring compliance efforts are executed effectively and in line with both legal standards and the organization's objectives. This role requires both technical expertise in legal compliance and the ability to provide actionable insights that drive the organization’s success and maintain its reputation for compliance and integrity.
