May allocate resources to ensure the most critical work is covered or may manage the relationship of outsourcing partners. Ensures that counsel given implements legal best practices and mitigates risk of litigation.

Position Summary

The General Consultant within Legal Services is an advanced-level individual contributor responsible for providing expert advice and support in legal matters across the organization. This role involves working closely with the Legal and Compliance teams to ensure that legal strategies and advice align with organizational goals and mitigate risk. The consultant will be involved in providing specialized legal guidance on complex issues, ensuring that the organization adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements, and assisting in the development of policies and procedures to maintain compliance and integrity across the enterprise. In this position, the General Consultant will manage relationships with external legal partners and service providers, ensuring that outsourced legal work aligns with organizational needs and adheres to industry best practices. The consultant will also assist in resource allocation to ensure that the most critical legal matters are addressed efficiently. The role requires the ability to independently analyze legal issues, develop solutions, and offer counsel that helps the organization navigate legal complexities while minimizing the risk of litigation. The consultant is expected to act as a trusted advisor to leadership and other departments on legal matters affecting the organization. As an experienced professional, the General Consultant will also play a key role in mentoring and guiding less experienced legal staff, sharing their expertise to enhance the overall capabilities of the legal department. This may involve leading internal legal projects, conducting training sessions, and reviewing the work of other legal professionals to ensure high standards of quality and compliance. The consultant will be expected to handle a range of legal matters with minimal supervision, using their advanced knowledge and experience to provide strategic, effective, and legally sound solutions that contribute to the organization's long-term success and risk management objectives.
