Enables appropriate management and stewardship of archival collections. Sets and administers policy to allow campus and public access to archival materials.

Position Summary

The Associate General Coordinator within Archives supports the stewardship of the institution’s archival and historical collections, working under the umbrella of Library Services. This entry-level professional position contributes to the development, organization, and maintenance of physical and digital archival materials, helping to ensure long-term preservation and accessibility. The role aids in advancing teaching, learning, and research by assisting with the management of specialized information systems and enhancing access to archival resources. As part of the Archives team, the Associate General Coordinator applies foundational knowledge of archival theory and practices to perform a range of responsibilities, including processing collections, supporting records assessments, and preparing descriptive tools. The role may assist in administering access policies, responding to research inquiries, and contributing to digital preservation initiatives. Under guidance, this position helps facilitate the responsible management of historically significant materials, in alignment with institutional policies and public access standards. Functioning as an individual contributor within General Administration, this position emphasizes independent task execution while participating collaboratively in broader team efforts. The Associate General Coordinator may support or coordinate specific programs or processes within the archives and is expected to develop subject-matter knowledge over time. As an entry-level professional role, this position offers opportunities to grow archival expertise, contribute to operational efficiency, and support the broader mission of library and archival services.
