Position Summary

The Senior Academic Coordinator within Academic Affairs plays a pivotal role in the strategic development and delivery of student academic services, ensuring the successful operation of key programs that support student achievement and growth. With an elevated level of experience, the Senior Academic Coordinator takes on a more comprehensive scope, managing and coordinating advanced academic initiatives such as first-year experience programs, tutoring services, skills workshops, and learning centers. They may oversee the development of new initiatives and improve existing programs, ensuring alignment with the university’s academic goals and student success strategies. In addition to the coordination of academic programs, the Senior Academic Coordinator serves as a key resource and advisor to students, providing guidance on academic policies, academic support resources, and pathways to success. They are responsible for monitoring program effectiveness, collecting feedback, and analyzing data to make informed recommendations for program enhancements. This position requires a proactive approach in identifying student needs, collaborating with faculty and staff, and ensuring that resources are effectively allocated to support academic success. The Senior Academic Coordinator may also mentor and lead teams of academic support staff, providing training, feedback, and leadership in the development of academic services. The Senior Academic Coordinator works independently and with minimal supervision, often taking a leadership role in the development and execution of academic support programs. While maintaining a focus on student-facing initiatives, they are expected to be a subject matter expert in their area of academic affairs, handling complex tasks and providing oversight for specialized programs. This role requires a blend of strong academic knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple, high-priority initiatives with a focus on student-centered outcomes.
