Associate Executive, Military Affairs

Military Affairs is responsible for serving the universitys military student community. Collaborates with university partners to ensure military and veteran dependents are connected to the financial, academic, and social resources necessary for a successful transition to and through their course of study at the university.
Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Associate Executive: Accountable for annual execution of goals and objectives in area of responsibility; disseminates goals to direct reports and ensures goals are operationalized. Recommends and may approve policy for area of operational and/or functional control. Typically has multiple directors and managers as direct reports. Scope of responsibility is a university wide sub-function with multiple disciplines, or multiple functions within a college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Associate Academic Executive within Military Affairs plays a pivotal leadership role in supporting military students and veterans as they navigate their academic journey at the university. This position oversees the strategic development and execution of initiatives designed to ensure that military students, veterans, and their dependents have access to the necessary resources, support systems, and opportunities to succeed academically, socially, and personally. The Associate Executive works closely with senior leadership to define the long-term vision for military affairs and ensures that all initiatives align with the broader university goals. This role involves managing a team of directors and managers who are responsible for the day-to-day operations of military student services, including advising, career development, academic support, and social integration programs. The Associate Executive is responsible for coordinating efforts between various campus departments, ensuring seamless access to financial aid, housing, and other essential services for military students. Additionally, the position provides leadership in creating policies and programs that foster a supportive and inclusive environment for military-affiliated individuals. The Associate Executive will evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services through data analysis, feedback, and regular assessments, continuously seeking ways to enhance the student experience. In addition to internal responsibilities, the Associate Academic Executive within Military Affairs serves as the university's key representative in external partnerships with military organizations, community agencies, and government entities. This individual plays a vital role in advocating for military students at the university level and works to strengthen the university's relationship with military and veteran communities. By contributing to strategic planning and policy development, the Associate Executive ensures that military-affiliated students are well-supported throughout their academic careers, while also meeting the university's broader mission of fostering a diverse and inclusive student body.
