Position Summary

The Senior Academic Coordinator within Student Engagement plays a pivotal role in developing, coordinating, and evaluating a broad range of student engagement initiatives that enhance the co-curricular experience at the university. This position is responsible for leading high-impact programs such as student organizations, first-year experience activities, special events, and orientation. The Senior Coordinator provides strategic oversight for the planning, execution, and evaluation of these programs, ensuring they align with university goals and support student success, engagement, and development. By fostering student involvement in these activities, the Senior Coordinator contributes to building a sense of community and promoting leadership skills among students. In this senior-level role, the Academic Coordinator works with student leaders, faculty, and staff to support the continued growth and development of student engagement opportunities. They oversee the development and execution of training and leadership programs for student organizations, helping to ensure that these groups are well-organized, active, and effective in meeting the needs of the student body. The Senior Coordinator also works collaboratively with other departments and campus organizations to ensure that student engagement efforts are integrated across campus life, contributing to a holistic student experience. Additionally, they are responsible for collecting and analyzing feedback on engagement initiatives to assess their effectiveness and make improvements for future programming. As an individual contributor with some team leadership responsibilities, the Senior Academic Coordinator exercises a high degree of autonomy, using their expertise to make critical decisions about program development, implementation, and assessment. They provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff or student leaders, helping them develop their skills and competencies. The role requires a combination of leadership, strategic thinking, and operational management to ensure that student engagement initiatives are not only impactful but also sustainable and continuously evolving to meet the needs of the student population.
