They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.

Director: Directs and controls the activities of multiple university units or leads a team of professionals with significant university wide impact. Typically has indirect reports. In charge of overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, etc. for the unit. Collaborates with executive leadership on establishing strategic goals across the function.

Position Summary

The General Director for Fundraising is responsible for leading and overseeing the university's fundraising strategies and activities. This position directs the development and execution of programs aimed at securing significant contributions from individuals, corporations, and other potential donors. The General Director ensures alignment with the university’s mission and goals, focusing on both annual and major giving efforts. This leadership role involves overseeing a team that is responsible for donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and engagement, while also working closely with senior leadership to define and refine fundraising priorities. In addition to strategic oversight, the General Director for Fundraising manages the operational aspects of fundraising campaigns, including planning, staffing, and budgeting. This position requires the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and units to maximize donor impact and advance the university’s financial objectives. The director is also responsible for ensuring the integration of fundraising efforts with broader institutional initiatives and for reporting on progress and outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of fundraising practices, and the ability to manage complex programs with a significant university-wide impact.
