Major Gifts identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts from critical, high-profile prospects/donors. Designs and implements strategic fundraising plans through collaboration for academic units, regional campuses, and complex markets. Typically manages a portfolio of approximately 100 prospects and gift solicitations of $100,000 to $5,000,000.

Position Summary

The Development Supervisor for Major Gifts is a managerial position that plays a vital role in overseeing the major gift fundraising efforts for the university. This role involves supervising a team of development professionals responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts from high-profile prospects and donors. With a focus on gifts ranging from $100,000 to $5,000,000, the Development Supervisor ensures the effective execution of strategic fundraising plans across academic units, regional campuses, and complex markets. The supervisor will work closely with other leaders to set goals, manage donor portfolios, and drive the fundraising success of the university. In addition to overseeing a team of major gift officers, the Development Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day administrative oversight, including task delegation, team scheduling, and workflow management. They will also be instrumental in mentoring and training staff, helping them build the necessary skills to cultivate donor relationships and achieve fundraising targets. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and support team members, align efforts with the university's overall fundraising strategy, and ensure that all activities are in line with the institution’s mission and goals.
