Position Summary

The Senior Academic Coordinator for Athletics provides advanced academic support and guidance to student-athletes, fostering their educational and personal success. This role requires extensive experience and education, acting independently to oversee complex academic programs and provide expert advice to student-athletes, coaches, and faculty. The coordinator takes the lead in developing and implementing academic strategies, ensuring compliance with university policies and NCAA eligibility requirements while addressing the unique challenges faced by student-athletes. In this role, the Senior Academic Coordinator may also provide leadership within the academic services team, mentoring junior staff and coordinating collaborative efforts to enhance student outcomes. They are instrumental in monitoring academic progress, designing support plans, and influencing policies or processes that impact student-athlete success. With a focus on autonomy and team influence, this position ensures that student-athletes are equipped with the resources and support necessary to achieve academic excellence while meeting their athletic commitments.
