Position Summary

The General Consultant for Marketing is responsible for providing expert consultation and strategic insights to the Communications and Marketing department at the university. This role focuses on developing and executing creative marketing strategies and initiatives in collaboration with various university units, including colleges and business units. The consultant will work independently and with teams to implement marketing campaigns that target diverse stakeholders, including prospective and current students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the broader community, ensuring all efforts are aligned with the university’s overall brand and objectives. As an individual contributor, the consultant will take a lead role in advising on best practices, market trends, and innovative approaches to reach key audiences. This includes conducting market research, analyzing data, and providing recommendations that drive marketing effectiveness. The consultant will guide the development of marketing materials, digital content, and campaigns while ensuring that all initiatives are consistent with the university's brand guidelines and communication standards. Additionally, the consultant will play a key role in helping units measure and evaluate the success of their marketing efforts, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve optimal results. With an advanced level of experience and expertise, the consultant will also provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring the continuous development of marketing skills across the department. By leveraging their knowledge, the consultant will drive innovative and effective marketing solutions, enhance the university's outreach efforts, and contribute to its mission of engaging and inspiring a wide range of stakeholders.
