Marketing is responsible for marketing strategy and management, partnering with colleges and business units to provide creative solutions and consultation in the effective execution of marketing initiatives for stakeholders including current and potential students, employees, media, and others.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Supervisor: Supervises experienced administrative, operative, and/or technical roles. Coordinates schedules and workflow for the team. Focuses on team completion of assignments and is responsible for ensuring the orientation and training of employees.

Position Summary

The General Supervisor within Marketing is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and activities of the marketing team, ensuring efficient coordination of workflows and timely completion of assignments. This position requires managing experienced administrative, operative, and/or technical roles within the team, providing guidance and support in their tasks. The supervisor is accountable for organizing schedules, facilitating the execution of marketing projects, and ensuring that the team has the resources necessary to meet objectives. The role also includes responsibility for the orientation and training of new employees, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively. In addition, the General Supervisor will be tasked with monitoring the performance of team members, providing feedback, and ensuring adherence to departmental standards. The supervisor will collaborate closely with other units within the university to ensure marketing initiatives are aligned with broader organizational goals. This position also involves assisting in the development of marketing strategies, ensuring that they are implemented smoothly and in accordance with set timelines. The General Supervisor will work to create a positive, productive environment that encourages team collaboration and growth, while also managing day-to-day activities that support the university’s marketing efforts.
