Data Management is responsible for the practice of collecting, keeping, and using data securely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. The goal of data management is to help faculty, staff, students, and the university optimize the use of data within the bounds of policy and regulation.

In an individual contributor role, the positions work is primarily achieved through individual efforts or by participating as part of a team. Individual contributors may: Coordinate, influence, or review the work of others. Be the authority on a given program or process. Lead teams. A range of knowledge, complexity, autonomy, and impact may be needed to achieve results at certain levels. Individual contributor roles are reflected in the Academic Administration, Development, General Administration, Technical/STEM, and C1-C4 of the Clinical tracks.

Position Summary

The Analyst in Data Management is responsible for supporting the efficient and secure management of data systems at the university. This role involves assisting in the collection, organization, and maintenance of data from various academic, administrative, and operational sources. The Analyst ensures that data is stored in compliance with university policies and is accessible for decision-making processes across departments. The position works collaboratively with teams to streamline data management workflows, optimize systems, and implement solutions that improve data accuracy, quality, and accessibility. In this role, the Analyst is responsible for performing data analysis and providing insights based on key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant metrics. This includes assisting with data cleaning, performing regular audits, and generating reports to support business operations and academic research. The Analyst works closely with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements, streamline processes, and implement best practices to ensure the integrity and security of data. The position also supports the team by assisting with troubleshooting, performing regular backups, and ensuring that data management systems are functioning properly. The Data Management Analyst position offers an opportunity for growth and development within the data management field, with a focus on leveraging technology and data-driven insights to support university operations. The role allows for hands-on experience with data management tools, systems, and techniques. While the Analyst is expected to work independently in many areas, they also work closely with senior team members to gain further expertise in data governance and the integration of emerging technologies.
