Educational Technology provides educational technology services to assist instructors in the sound use of technology in their teaching. Plans and delivers faculty development in response to faculty and institutional needs in a variety of formats including individual coaching, seminars, and workshops on the effective use of technology

Position Summary

The Architect within Educational Technology plays a pivotal role in designing and implementing technology-enhanced learning environments that support instructional innovation and pedagogical effectiveness across the university. This position focuses on developing and integrating digital tools and systems that align with institutional goals for teaching and learning, while ensuring accessibility, usability, and long-term sustainability. The Architect works collaboratively with academic and IT stakeholders to evaluate instructional needs, recommend appropriate technologies, and design solutions that foster engaging, inclusive, and student-centered learning experiences. Operating within the IT Learning and Training and Educational Technology domains, this role leads the architectural design of platforms, applications, and frameworks used in instructional delivery and faculty development. The Architect supports learning management systems, content creation tools, and other academic technologies, ensuring they are technically sound, secure, scalable, and effectively integrated with existing systems. This position also plays a key role in planning and guiding the adoption of emerging educational technologies, providing consultation and thought leadership in learning design, digital pedagogy, and technology alignment with curriculum goals. As an advanced-level individual contributor, the Architect functions with a high degree of autonomy and subject matter expertise. This role may lead cross-functional projects and mentor colleagues, while influencing strategic decisions through architectural planning and policy recommendations. The Architect contributes to faculty development by designing and delivering training on the effective use of educational technologies, and collaborates closely with academic units to ensure that solutions meet evolving instructional needs. Through innovation and deep technical knowledge, the Architect drives excellence in digital teaching and learning across the university.
