Position Summary

The Senior Analyst within IT Support plays a critical role in providing advanced technical support to faculty, staff, students, and university stakeholders, addressing complex hardware, software, and networking issues. As an experienced professional, the Senior Analyst is responsible for diagnosing intricate problems, offering effective solutions, and responding to a broad range of technical inquiries. Their expertise ensures that issues are resolved efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting the overall productivity of the university’s IT systems. In this individual contributor role, the Senior Analyst works with a high level of autonomy, handling complex technical challenges that require specialized knowledge and expertise. They are often called upon to provide guidance on the most advanced issues, utilizing their deep understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and security protocols. In addition to troubleshooting, they play a key role in implementing, maintaining, and enhancing IT solutions, ensuring the university’s IT infrastructure is secure, up-to-date, and running smoothly. The Senior Analyst may also assist in the development and implementation of new technologies, applications, or processes that improve IT support efficiency and effectiveness. While the Senior Analyst generally works independently, they may also provide informal leadership or mentoring to junior team members, helping to guide the development of others and ensure that team objectives are met. They contribute to the continuous improvement of IT support by suggesting and implementing strategies to optimize system performance, transition to new technologies, and enhance user experience. By acting as a subject matter expert and providing critical insights into IT system management, the Senior Analyst ensures that the IT Support function remains a responsive and integral part of the university’s technological landscape.
