Compliance Services ensures the universitys compliance with regulatory and quality standards and fosters a culture of integrity. Works with colleges and units to develop and implement internal controls, processes, and programs that access and enhance compliance. May engage with regulatory commissions and authorities or advance university positions with external and internal stakeholders.

Position Summary

The General Consultant within Compliance Services is an advanced-level individual contributor responsible for providing expert guidance and strategic recommendations to enhance the university's compliance programs. This role works independently to assess, develop, and implement strategies aimed at ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory standards, institutional policies, and best practices. The consultant contributes significantly to the university’s legal and compliance efforts by identifying risks, developing internal controls, and providing actionable solutions to mitigate compliance issues. In addition to their primary responsibilities, the General Consultant actively engages with key internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory commissions and authorities, to advance and advocate for the university's compliance positions. They provide specialized advice on complex compliance-related matters, conduct thorough risk assessments, and contribute to the creation of university-wide compliance initiatives. This position also involves leading compliance audits, analyzing internal processes, and collaborating with various departments to ensure that the university’s operations are aligned with regulatory and legal expectations. The General Consultant is expected to bring a high level of expertise and advanced knowledge of compliance frameworks, legal regulations, and best practices. They play a pivotal role in mentoring and providing guidance to junior staff, ensuring the development of the compliance team while fostering a culture of integrity within the organization. Through their work, the General Consultant contributes directly to the university’s ability to maintain a robust compliance environment and safeguard its reputation.
