Position Summary

The Academic Coordinator within Library Services plays a crucial role in supporting the development, organization, and accessibility of library collections that enhance academic teaching, learning, and research. This position works closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure that library resources are effectively organized and available to meet the academic needs of the community. The Coordinator assists in managing library systems, including collection acquisition, cataloging, and maintaining specialized information systems that support both in-person and digital access to library resources. In addition to supporting the organizational aspects of library services, the Academic Coordinator helps with the coordination of library-related programs and initiatives that directly impact students and faculty. This includes providing guidance on using library resources for academic research, assisting in the development of instructional materials, and facilitating access to specialized collections. The Coordinator is involved in training library staff and users on new technologies or resources, ensuring that library services align with academic goals and enhance the overall educational experience. As an individual contributor in an intermediate-level role, the Academic Coordinator is expected to work under limited supervision, with increasing autonomy as they gain experience. This role requires a solid understanding of library operations and academic support, but it does not demand full independence. The position offers opportunities to develop further skills in library management and academic program coordination, while also contributing to the strategic objectives of Library Services within the institution.
