Position Summary

The Analyst within Library Services plays a key role in supporting the technical and operational aspects of library functions, focusing on the analysis and management of data and systems that enhance library services. This position works closely with teams to assess, monitor, and improve library systems and technologies, ensuring their alignment with the academic needs of the institution. Analysts are responsible for providing detailed reports and data insights, conducting needs assessments, and contributing to the continuous improvement of library processes, with a particular emphasis on supporting the integration and functionality of specialized information systems used in library operations. In this role, the Analyst engages with a variety of library systems and technologies, analyzing and interpreting complex datasets, providing recommendations for system optimizations, and ensuring the accessibility and organization of library collections. The individual is expected to troubleshoot issues, identify opportunities for technological advancements, and support ongoing technical initiatives. The Analyst collaborates with other library staff to understand user needs and ensure systems are developed and managed in ways that enhance academic teaching, learning, and research within the university. They may also play a role in documenting best practices and supporting system training for library staff. The Analyst operates as an individual contributor, requiring a strong understanding of library systems, data analysis, and technology management. While the position requires some level of experience and education, the Analyst is not expected to work independently but instead to collaborate closely with technical teams, researchers, and academic staff to solve problems and contribute to projects. The role is designed for professionals who are building on their expertise in library services and technology and are expected to grow within the library’s broader operational and strategic framework.
