General Consultant, Project Management

Projects are typically short-term with specific milestone and end dates.

Position Summary

The General Consultant within Project Management plays a key role in supporting the planning, execution, and closure of projects that align with the university's strategic objectives. As an individual contributor, this role requires advanced expertise in project management processes and practices, as well as the ability to manage complex projects with a high degree of independence. The General Consultant works closely with project teams to define goals, build work plans, and establish timelines, ensuring that all project deliverables are met within the designated milestones. This position requires a strong focus on problem-solving and the ability to remove obstacles that may impede project progress. In addition to the technical aspects of project management, the General Consultant also serves as a resource for mentoring and guiding team members. They may coordinate and collaborate with various departments and stakeholders, facilitating effective communication to ensure that projects remain on track. By providing leadership and guidance, the General Consultant helps maintain team productivity, encourages accountability, and fosters a commitment to project success. They are adept at managing competing priorities and ensuring that project goals align with both short-term objectives and long-term strategic priorities. As an advanced-level individual contributor, the General Consultant works with a high level of autonomy and is expected to bring a wealth of experience to the role. While they may not have direct managerial responsibilities, their expertise allows them to lead initiatives, influence decision-making, and mentor less experienced team members. This position requires strong problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills, as the General Consultant is often called upon to provide strategic insights, identify process improvements, and ensure that projects are executed efficiently and effectively. Their contributions are crucial to the successful delivery of projects within the university's broader strategic framework.
