Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.

Position Summary

The Academic Manager within Academic Affairs is responsible for overseeing a team of professionals and support staff, ensuring the effective administration and delivery of various student support services. This role involves coordinating and managing academic advising, tutoring, first-year experience programs, learning centers, and other services that contribute to student success. The Academic Manager works closely with staff to ensure that academic programs align with institutional goals and that students receive the necessary resources to thrive academically and personally. As a leader within the department, the Academic Manager is accountable for setting performance goals, monitoring staff productivity, and providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations. This includes conducting performance evaluations, addressing staffing needs, and ensuring that all team members are adequately trained and engaged in their roles. The Academic Manager is also responsible for implementing and executing strategic initiatives within the department, such as improving academic support services, fostering student engagement, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality programming. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, the Academic Manager plays a key role in strategic planning and decision-making within Academic Affairs. This includes collaborating with other departments, assessing the effectiveness of existing programs, and identifying opportunities for improvement. The manager ensures that the team works cohesively to meet the academic needs of students, maintains a positive and productive work environment, and drives continuous improvement in all areas of academic support. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively manage resources and meet the dynamic needs of students.
